June 21, 2011, Victoria, BC – Canadian university decision-makers met for the first time to address the impact of environmental, social and governance issues affecting over $41 billion in pension and endowment funds, at the inaugural CURI Symposium.

The inaugural Symposium was held in conjunction with the Canadian Responsible Investment Conference. Symposium participants include national university trustees, academics, student representatives and global industry experts. The key issue  to addressed was how Canadian universities face a $41 billion challenge to participate in the development of responsible investment (RI) at universities. Participants include Canadian Mutual Fund Companies, the UN-backed Principles of Responsible
Investment, Meritas SRI Funds, Mercer, the Responsible Endowments Coalition, Jantzi-Sustainalytics and EIRIS.
